Expanded Transit Service Across Marin & Sonoma Counties

Starting April 12, 2026, North Bay transit agencies are rolling out the Marin-Sonoma Coordinated Transit Service (MASCOTS) Plan—a regional effort designed to make transit more convenient, connected, and reliable along the Highway 101 corridor.

Through this collaboration of nine transit and funding partners, riders will benefit from:

As part of these improvements, SMART train service will run more frequently, with earlier morning trips, later evening service, and better midday coverage. Connections with Golden Gate Transit will also be better timed, helping create a smoother, more seamless travel experience.

Whether you’re commuting, running errands, or heading out for the day, these enhancements are designed to make transit a more convenient option for getting around the North Bay.
